Yummy Media's iRod is a downloadble, 3D interactive desktop toy. Unlike other virtual characters/toys, iRod is fully interactive and operates outside of a web browser on the desktop of Windows-based computers. It was released in November, 2005.

iRod is a customizable, three-dimensional virtual vehicle that can be driven, maintained, and customized. Its motion and actions are controlled by a desktop animation engine using the DesktopX platform. Points can be scored along with a 360 explore mode to open the doors and trunk, turn on lights, and set car alarm.
